Our Story

Dirty Little Paws is a non-profit rescue in Southern California. We rescue from kill shelters and from the street, manage feral colonies, and promote TNR (trap, neuter, release). We need your help! Please adopt a pet from a shelter. If you can't adopt, please foster. If you can't foster, please donate.

At Dirty Little Paws, our mission is to save the lives of as many cats as possible. We respond to daily emergencies, fully vet each cat, release ferals back into their colonies, rehabilitate some, make sick cats well, hold adoption fairs, educate the public, and place a strong emphasis on sourcing donations through events & fundraisers so that this work may continue.

What people are saying about Dirty Little Paws!

Where do you start when you meet someone who works for free to rescue animals that have no hope , Kat is a amazing woman who is running around helping fire victims and stopped in the middle of her day to rescue my family cat from being homeless or dying in a shelter, do to uncontrollable circumstances my dad’s cat was about to have no one and no where, dirty little paws is a rescue with a heart, I can’t thank them enough.

Just want to thank Dirty Little Paws for their generous donation to help the kitty evacuees during the Cranston Fire. All the recipients were so grateful & it’s nice to know there are groups like this still willing to help when the need arises.

With broken hearts after losing our 12 year old Bengal Cat Jasper, we found a little female kitten at the Oceanside Pet Smart. You’ll see her here in the feed as a little tortie baby known as “Zuri” . We named her “Quinn”. She worked hard to make friends with our remaining 12 year old bengal and is helping us to heal our hearts. She came to us clean and had a perfect vet check. Very socialized and already knew how to give kisses. She has a wonderful life in a big house where she has three adults and a cat for a family. She’s easy to train too! We love her and would highly recommend Dirty Little Paws…though the little paws were as clean as could be!
I want to leave 5 stars but it appears that reviews have changed and I cannot do that. So here’s my five stars: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

We just got the best little kitty from these guys! We stopped into PetSmart in Oceanside and fell in love! After meeting Kat and working with Dirty Little Paws I can understand why! They truly care about the animals and make sure they get matched up with the right home! We just brought Salem home yesterday and he and our daughter are already BEST friends!! I would recommend them to everyone! Thank you so much Kat, we couldn’t be happier!!
